Greater benefits for many in their daily battle of life.
THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS                   By Phil Guerena Sr.

Hatred has always promoted itself with lies and slander.  This truth was already known more than three thousand years ago as recorded in Proverbs 10:18.  “Whosoever hides hatred has lying lips, And whosoever spreads slander is a fool.” To hate is very easy for anyone living since man has an evil nature.  In forgiveness, spitefulness can no longer dominate. Having this view on life, anger, bitterness, lies, pride and the corrupt mouth must be put away.

An arrogant man usually exalts himself as always being right even if he has to put down his fellow man.  Hatred thrives in disagreement, disagreement creates conflict, and conflict often leads to the formation of enemies. This is never more apparent than in the world of politics.  Countries which adopt selfish political views often hurt themselves, as well as others.
Their pride convinces them that they are right and everyone else is wrong, even if the end result is death and destruction.

In the church, disagreements are not always friendly.  God cannot be confused, but it seems like He is when His servants fight verbally and physically among each other.  Such fights lead to many hurt feelings and, in some cases, the splitting of the church.  If left unresolved, these disagreements can cause the culprits to go elsewhere and repeat the same process all over again.  Pride and arrogance cannot hide in the church. This is the place where forgiveness and meekness should be found. This is easier said than done.

When communism took off in Russia, there were constant revolutions and killings.  One such victim of these killings was Leon Trotsky, a revolutionary leader who escaped to Mexico looking for safety from his own comrades.  On August 20, 1940 he was hunted down and killed in Mexico City.

Those who agreed with the concepts of communism were considered very intellectual.  However, many who had major disagreements with them were either eliminated, like Trotsky, or incarnated.  This type of political hatred has proven to be an abject failure throughout the world, even the Russians have admitted so.  Such a socialist type system fails to fulfill its promises/lies and ultimately results in denying the rights of the people.

This has been especially true for those who read the Bible and believed its God and His ways of living.  Even though the Bible has been attacked for centuries it is still in vital existence. The same can be said for the originators of the Old Testament, the Jews, who have faced multiple attempts of extermination; however, they are still with us and are blessed.

Forgiveness has had to heal all the false promises made by man. This has helped to sustain our civilization.  Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941. Now they are one of the best nations in the world. Without a doubt, The U.S.A. is the best of all for its ability to forgive.  Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
